Velonote Privacy Policy

Velonote is a simple and lightweight note-taking application designed to help users create, organize, and manage personal notes efficiently.

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Velonote handles information when you use the app.

1. Information Collection

Velonote does not collect, store, or share personal data directly. All notes and content created in the app are stored locally on your device (using Room SQLite and SharedPreferences) and are not transmitted to any external developer server.

2. Advertising & User Consent (UMP SDK)

Velonote uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements. AdMob may automatically collect certain information, such as:

  • Device information and Advertising ID
  • IP address and general location data
  • Interaction data and ad diagnostic metrics

To comply with data privacy regulations (such as GDPR in the EEA/UK and US State Privacy Laws), Velonote integrates the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK:

  • When required by regional regulations, a UMP consent form will prompt you for your preferences regarding personalized ads and device identifiers before ads are initialized.
  • You may manage or modify your ad choices at any time through your device's privacy settings or by clearing app data.

3. Local Data Storage

All app features operate locally on your device, including:

  • Creating, editing, and formatting notes
  • Coloring and pinning notes
  • Deleting notes and task checklists
  • Dark mode preferences
  • Widget customization

Velonote does not upload or store your data online.

4. Backup and Restore

Velonote provides backup and restore functionality:

  • Backup files are stored locally or in storage chosen by the user.
  • We do not access, view, or transmit backup data.

5. Widgets

Velonote includes home screen widgets that display your notes. These widgets:

  • Only access local data stored on your device.
  • Do not send any data externally.

6. In-App Purchase (Remove Ads)

Velonote offers optional in-app purchases (such as purchasing an Ad-Free upgrade):

  • Purchases are handled securely via Google Play Billing.
  • We do not collect, access, or store payment information or credit card details.

7. Data Security & Privacy Rights

Since Velonote does not collect personal data directly on remote servers:

  • Your notes remain securely inside Android's application sandbox on your device.
  • Your data remains under your complete control at all times.
  • Network communication with third-party Google services uses encrypted Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).

8. Children’s Privacy

Velonote is not specifically intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Third-Party Services

Velonote uses trusted official Google services to support app operations:

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK
  • Google Play Billing
  • Google Play Core Services (In-App Review & Update)

These services process data according to their respective privacy policies.

11. Permissions

Velonote requests only the necessary system permissions to support its features:

  • android.permission.INTERNET: Required for loading advertisements, validating UMP consent, checking app updates, and processing in-app purchases.
  • com.android.vending.BILLING: Required for Google Play Store purchase transactions.
  • Storage / Widget access: Used locally for backup/restore and home screen widgets.
